Books to Movies

I am a huge fan of books made into movies.  I love to see what others get out of the book and try to make it come to life on the screen.  Some books are made into some great movies, some...not so great.  In most cases, the book is usually better.  But in other cases, especially if you have a hard time getting into the book, the movie helps to bring it all together for you. The book Possession by A.S. Byatt was like that for me, but the movie is one of my favorites.

That being said, the Woodmere Branch of the Traverse Area District Library will be showing books made into movies beginning Mondays at 6:30pm in the Thirlby Room with free popcorn!

December movies coincide with World War II and new releases! I am trying to get the newest ones available.  Hopefully they will come in just before we watch them.  Some of the title links may be to the book for we don't have the movie in our catalog yet.  These titles may also change if they do not arrive in time to watch them.
